Nigella Crochet Long Cardigan

Free Crochet Long V-Stitch Cardigan Pattern

When it comes to fashion, there is nothing as versatile and timeless as a cozy crochet cardigan. If you are a crochet enthusiast and love to cozy up, I have a pattern just for you. Introducing my first V-stitch cardigan. This stunning cardigan combines the elegance of a long cardigan with a V-stitch making it a must-have garment in your wardrobe.

The V-stitch is a classic crochet stitch that creates a delicate, airy fabric perfect for garments. The stitch is simple and works up quickly, creating a lovely texture to any project. The cardigan is lightweight and comfortable, ideal for both transitional weather and cozy nights.

Long cardigans are great because of their practicality. The longer length provides extra length and coverage, which is perfect for layering. Whether you are going to the office, going for a casual outing, or relaxing at home, this cardigan has you covered. Pair it with jeans and a simple tee for a relaxed look or dress up with a dress and boots for a more sophisticated look.

I released this cardigan a few months ago and shared it as a guest designer on Helen Wilkinson's website. Although I have been a guest designer before, this was my first-time guest hosting at Sunflower Cottage Crochet. I appreciate the opportunity she gave me to share my creativity with her audience. Assembly

  • Measure for sleeve armhole on each side of the back panel and one side of each of the front panels making sure the RS will be on the outside after the parts are sewn together. Use finished measurements for the armhole for each size starting from the shoulder.

Crochet long Cardiagn

  • With WS facing, sew the sides of the front panels to the sides of the back panel ending where the armhole measurements start.

  • Sew the shoulders together, leaving about 5-6” in between on the back panel for the neck. You will need to measure and divide evenly so that the shoulders are equal in measurements and the front panels fit in the space between the shoulders and the neck. (You can measure the back panel, divide it in half and place a marker at the center, then measure 2.5”-3” on either side of the marker and place markers where to sew to or from.

  • Sew the sleeves to the armhole and then the sleeves together.
