Cozy Comfort Blanket

Inspiration

I love to snuggle in warm and cozy blankets. Then I just realized recently that I did not have any lightweight crochet blankets. That is when I promised myself that I was going to make one so that I can snuggle in during those chilly evenings. I was encouraged even more with the Crochet 4 Me Blog Hop by Debbie Field of MadeMeStitch. So I got to work.

I wanted something that I can use comfortably in Florida since it is never too cold here. I used worsted weight (4) yarn since it is not too heavy but still cozy and warm. I chose to use Red Heart Soft Yarn as it is so soft and feels cozy on the skin. The blanket turned out to be warm and the textured pattern makes it feel even warmer, just perfect for the winter as well as fall and spring. It is wide enough for me to lie on a recliner watching my favorite shows while keeping every part of my body warm. I would say that I really love how it turned out.

Yarn

I used Red Heart Soft Yarn in Soft Blush for this blanket. I have used this yarn before to make hats but not a blanket. I love the look and feel of the blanket. Comparable yarns to Red Heart Soft Yarn include Red Heart Soft Baby Steps, Big Twist Living, Big Twist Soft Touch, Loops and Threads Soft and shinny, and Premier Yarns Basix Worsted.
