20 Square Crochet Blanket Pattern

There is no better feeling than finishing crocheting a blanket. Even better when you have collaborated with other designers to assemble a 20-square crochet blanket. The squares are released one at a time until all the squares are released. Each square has a different pattern using the treble stitch, hence the Here Comes Treble Blanket. If you love textured blankets, then this will be a blanket for you.

Abbreviations

Ch - chain

St(s) - stitch(es)

Sc - single crochet

Dc - double crochet

Fptr - front post treble crochet

Special St

Front Post Treble Crochet (fptr) - yarn over twice, insert the hook from left to front of the st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through the last two loops.

This stitch is worked the same way as double crochet front post except it is work


Notes

  • The pattern is written US Standard Terms

  • Ch 3 at the beginning of the row counts as a st.

  • Fptr st is worked 2 rows below

Ch 39

Row 1: dc in 4th ch and each ch to end, turn (37).





Row 2: ch 3, dc in 2nd and each st to end, turn  (37).





Row 3: ch 3, dc in 2nd st and next 16 sts, fptr in next st, dc each in last 18 sts (36 dc, 1 fptr).




Row 4: ch 3, dc in 2nd st and each st to end, turn (37).




Row 5: ch 3, dc in 2nd st and next 15 sts, (fptr in next st, dc in next st) 2 times, dc each in last 16 sts, turn (35 dc, 2 fptr).




Row 6: ch 3, dc in 2nd and each st to end, turn (37).

Row 7: ch 3, dc in 2nd and next 10 sts, (fptr in next st, dc in next st) 7 times, dc each in last 11 sts, turn (30 dc, 7 fptr). 




Row 8: ch 3, dc in 2nd and each st to end, turn (37).

Row 14:  ch 3, dc in each st to end, turn (37).


Row 15: ch 3, dc in 2nd and next 10 sts, (fptr in next st, dc in next st) 7 times, dc each in last 11 sts, turn (30 dc, 7 fptr). 


Row 16:  ch 3, dc in each st to end, turn (37).
