Snowman Square
I am so happy to be apart of this blog hop "Christmas 2020 Hope for the Holidays" hosted by Bearye.com. Very talented designers joined together to make different design squares that you can use to make a blanket or throw pillow. You can buy as a bundle here, which will give you more designs to make as many blankets as many you want, or a variety of colorful decorative pillows. If you would rather buy one and don't mind coming back everyday, you can check them here
That being said, this has been a year to behold. With everything that has been going on, it is finally coming to an end, and hopefully, everything that has been going on will go with it.
That is what I was thinking about while I was making this Snowman Square. I do not live in a snow area, but I know when the snow comes, with it comes the cold and the chill. I don’t like the cold, but if you do, you have to protect yourself when you go outside. Otherwise, the chill will cut through you and you might not enjoy it as you would, if you were bundled up. When it gets warm, the snow melts away, and before long, summer comes. During the warm weather, there is usually nothing to show that there was snow.
Making this snowman made me start hoping that when the year ends, everything else that has been going on in 2020 will melt away with it. I know we can’t erase all that has happened, but seeing a reduction will give us hope. The sun will rise again and brighten our days again. The gloominess that has been looming since the year started can be a thing of the past. That is kind of the same with this snowman or snow in general. It comes and melts away. Looking forward to when sunshine will come again.
This square was made with Mighty Stitch yarn from WeCrochet. I had never used this yarn before but I enjoyed working with it. I found it to be very soft and easy to work with. It kind of feels like the Caron Simply Soft yarn.
The good thing about this square, you can make it however you want. You can decide to fill the color inside so with or without the outline or even reverse the colors. Playing around with the colors will still give you a snowman as long as you follow the outline. Alternating the color is another way that can help you make a colorful blanket, throw pillow, dishcloth, potholder, or kitchen towel.
