Zinnia Top
Inspiration
I love to crochet garments, be it tops, sweaters, or children’s clothes. Most of the time I use cotton or cotton-blend yarn for my tops and children's clothes. I love how they look and feel. Recently I visited Kenya and as any crocheter or knitter, I wanted to see what type of yarns they carry. I went from store to store in the capital city, and all they had were Acrylic yarn. It got me wondering, what do people there use to make their tops?
After I came back, I decided that I would make my next top with any other yarn but cotton or cotton blend. For this top, I used wool, mostly because of the coming cold weather. All I can say is that I am not disappointed. It turned out to be comfortable, perfect for the winter weather, and can still be worn all year round, making it a must-have addition to any wardrobe. I am very happy with the results.
I am happy to share with you this pattern through the Winter Wonders Blog Hop Hosted by RaeLyn of Itchinforsomestitchin, Sarah of Nedandmimi, and Hanna of Hanjan Crochet. Yarn
I used We Crochet Swish 100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool 110 yds (100.6 m)/50 g (1.8 oz). Thanks to WeCrochet for the yarn support.
I chose the worsted weight yarn so that I will be able to wear the top all year round. The top is thick enough to be worn with layers during the winter but still be worn comfortably alone during the spring and fall months. I also have a Zinnia Headband that goes together with this top.
