Abbreviations (US terms)

Ch - chain

Sc - single crochet

St - stitch

Hdc - half double crochet

Scblo - single crochet back loop only

Sl st - slip stitch

Rep -repeat

Notes

  • The pattern uses US Standard Terms

  • Ch 1 and ch 2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch

Free Crochet Washcloth Pattern Instructions

Ch (40, 44)

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch and each ch to end, turn (39, 43)

Row 2: ch 2, hdc in first st, * sl st in next st, hdc in next st, rep from * to end, turn

Row 3: ch 1, scblo in each st to end, turn

Rows 4 - (39, 43): rep rows 2 & 3


Border

Row 40, (44): ch 1, sc in each st to end. 

Do not turn

Continue down the opposite side and sc evenly around the towel with 3 sc sts in each corner.  Fasten off and weave in the ends.
