Grace’s Garnet Scarf

Inspiration

Grace’s Garnet Scarf is the first in the Gemstone Crochet Scarf Collection. This collection features a scarf every month that coincides with the birthstone for that month. The scarf also honors my loved one that was born in the month that the scarf is featured.

The Grace’s Garnet Scarf is made in Garnet yarn which is the birthstone for January. The pattern is easy and quick using basic stitches of double crochet, single crochet, and chains to make shells.

Grace is my daughter! Well, I did not give birth to her but nevertheless, I claim her to be my daughter. I have known her since she was born until now she has grown to be the best mother to her two beautiful children. I love the young woman she has turned out to be and I am honored to call her a daughter.

Yarn

I wanted to use the yarn that not only has the same color as the birthstone but also has the same name as the birthstone. For this month, it was easy as I found the Yarn Bee Soft Secret in Garnet at our local Hobby Lobby store and so it was just a drive away. The yarn turned out to be what I was looking for. The scarf is soft, warm, and cozy.
