Why a bulky crochet men’s beanie hat you may ask.
I know sometimes we tend to forget that men get cold too (I am guilty of this). Most of the time I make things for the family and never think of the men in my life. Not sure why but this time I decided to create a cozy and warm hat pattern using bulky yarn with the primary target being men.
I designed this easy crochet chunky hat for a family friend a while back and it is just recently that I got around to finishing writing the pattern. We had planned to meet the couple around the holidays and I did not want to show up empty-handed. Due to time constraints, I decided that a chunky crochet men’s hat would be an easy and quick gift to make.
I have used a bulky yarn before to make other things like blankets but never a hat. I thought it was going to be hard (don’t ask me why) but after a while, everything went on smoothly. I loved making it and I was pleased with how it turned out. I am open to using this yarn again and hopefully, I will soon.
This hat comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large. I wasn’t sure how a baby and toddler-size hat would turn out using bulky yarn so I did not include smaller sizes.

Yarn
If you've never worked with bulky yarn, now's the time to try. And the men's crochet chunky beanie is the perfect project to showcase the beauty and versatility of bulky yarn.
For this pattern, I used the Bernat Symphony in Granite. Despite my initial apprehensions, I was surprised to learn how straightforward and immensely satisfying it was to work with the bulky yarn. Even better, it is a high-quality yarn that is soft, warm, and durable.
This bulky yarn not only adds extra warmth to your hat but also gives it a stylish, textured look that's bound to turn heads. Plus, with a wide range of colors to choose from, you can customize your hat to match any outfit or mood.
As always, this yarn may not be available to you. Don’t worry. I will suggest some yarn that may be comparable to the Bernat Symphony yarn. If you can’t find the suggested yarns then use your favorite chunky yarn
