With winter around the corner, this is the perfect time to cozy up with accessories that are both functional and stylish. What other accessory to make than the crochet twisted ear warmer designed using the soft Lion Brand Nap Time yarn. This yarn’s velvety texture adds an extra touch of luxury to the ribbed crochet headband, making it feel like a gentle hug around your ears. The double-layered design is perfect for keeping you extra warm during those chilly winter days, while the twisted detail in the front gives it a modern look that you’ll love to wear.
Why a double-layered crochet ear warmer headband. Let’s just say that I learned it the hard way. I decided to design this women’s crochet headband after I visited the mid-west in the winter unprepared. Coming from the south, I had no idea how cold it gets up north. My ears almost fell off because of the cold. After I came back, I promised myself that I would never go through the same experience again. I wanted some thing that was soft, cozy, comfortable, and functional yet stylish. That is why I chose the Lion Brand Nap Time yarn. The yarn is light, soft, and warm without being heavy. This ribbed crochet ear warmer band has been the perfect accessory for the winter months when I visit the mid west.
This crochet twisted ear warmer pattern is easy using mostly hdc and hdcblo stitches. You can make this headband either using one or two colors of yarn.
This pattern crochet ear warmer band is part of the My Handmade Wardrobe hosted by Susanna of Fosbas Designs. The blog hop is geared towards designing projects for yourself. Sometimes designers concentrate on designing for other people and forget themselves. The blog hop gives you an opportunity to think of yourself and what you would want to make for yourself.
Yarn
I used Lion Brand Nap Time 100% Polyester yarn. The yarn is soft, warm, and easy to work with. It is a worsted-weight (4) yarn. This is my first time using this yarn and it was easy to work with.
In case you are unable to find the Lion Brand Naptime yarn, you can use Lion Brand Chenille Appeal, Sirdar Happy Chenille, Bernat Baby Velvet, or Katia Velvet Fine.

Sl st the last row to the first ch across to make the headband double
Cut off the yarn leaving about 8” long yarn to sew the band together
Turn the headband inside out
Fold the headband again in half lengthwise.
Fold the ends to meet in the middle making a circle.
Twist the right side of the band anti-clockwise once so the openings face each other.
