Finding an easy crochet top pattern that is stylish and trendy can indeed be a challenging task. I can relate to the frustration of scrolling the internet for the ideal lace crochet top, only to be left empty-handed. That’s why I’m happy to share this easy crochet summer top pattern. I aim for this women’s crochet top to be accessible to as many people as possible. Plus, who says this top is only for summer? The great news is that you can easily transition it into your spring and fall wardrobe by layering it with a jacket or sweater.
Inspiration Behind the Crochet Lace Top
The path to designing this sleeveless crochet lace top was far from simple. Initially, I envisioned a light, airy, and personality-filled top. However, life had other plans. I faced an unexpected challenge when I lost my dear mother-in-law, which required me to travel abroad for three weeks. This unexpected journey disrupted my timeline.
Upon returning, I contemplated delaying the pattern release. Yet, I had promised Susanna of Fosbas Designs to guest post on her blog, and I was determined to fulfill my promise. Despite moments of creative doubt and multiple rounds of frogging, I persevered.
Interestingly, the jet lag turned out to be a hidden blessing. Those sleepless nights became productive, allowing me to crochet tirelessly and complete the project in time for its release.
This crochet lace top is a testament to overcoming challenges and a celebration of creativity and resilience. I hope you create your version and find the same joy and fulfillment I experienced during its creation.

Pattern Notes
-
Ch 2 at the beg of the row does not count as a st.
-
Ch 3 at the beg of the row counts as a st.
-
The yarn color is changed on each row during the chs pattern.
-
No turning when making the chs pattern. Instead, each row is made with one color of the yarn, and the next row made with the second color starting at the beg of the previous row. That is each color is carried to one side of row one at a time.
-
You can make a tighter or looser version by either tightening or loosening the chs.
