Yarn
I used Lion Brand Basic Stitch 100% Premium Acrylic Yarn to make these crochet baby booties. I love this yarn because it is easy to use and does not split. I have used it to make other crochet projects such as Must-Have Crochet Scarf for Men, Jade’s Beanie, and Must-Have Men’s Beanie.

Sole
Ch 9, (11, 13)
Round 1: 5 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 6, (8, 10) chs, 5 hdc in last ch (continue so that you will work on the opposite side), hdc in next 6, (8, 10) chs, do not join with sl st 22, (26, 30).
Round 2: 2 hdc in first st of previous round and next 4 sts, hdc in next 6, (8, 10) sts, 2 hdc each in next 5 sts, hdc each in next 6, (8, 10) sts 32, (36, 40).
Round 3: starting in the first st of the previous round, [(2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st) 5 times, hdc in next 6, (8, 10)] 2 times 42, (46, 50).
Round 4: starting in the first st of the previous round, [(2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts) 5 times, hdc in next 6, (8, 10) sts] 2 times, slip st in first st of the same row 52, (56, 60).
Fasten off and weave in ends
Top Bootie
Round 5: With right side facing, attach yarn at the middle of the sole (count sts and make it is in the middle), ch 1, sc in same st as attachment, scblo in each st to end 52, (56, 60).
Round 6: sc in each st to end.
Round 7: scblo in each st to end 52, (56, 60).
Rounds 8-9, (9, 10): sc in each st to end
Round 10, (10, 11): sc in next 16, (18, 20) sts, hdc in next st, 10 dc2tog, hdc in next st, sc in next 14, (16, 18) 42, (46, 50).
Round 11, (11, 12): sc in next 14, (16, 18) sts, 8 dc2tog, sc in next 14, (16, 18) sts 34, (38, 42).
Round 12, (12, 13): sc in next st, sc2tog, sc in next 9, (11, 13) sts, hdc2tog, 4 dc2tog, hdc2tog, sc in next 7, (9, 11) sts, sc2tog, sc in next st, sl st in first st of same round 26, (30, 34).

Round 13, (13, 14)12, (12, 13): sc in each st around
Round 14, (14, 15)13, (13, 14): sc in first st, ch 1, * sk 1, sc in next st, ch 1, rep from * to end, join.
Round 15, (15, 16) - 24, (26, 17): sc in first ch-sp, ch 1, sk 1, sc in next ch-sp all around.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
The Ties (Make 2)
Using the purple yarn, put two yarns together so that you can work the ties using double yarn
Make a chain measuring about 16” to 18” long.

Pompom (make 4)
Pompom Instructions
Take the purple yarn and wind it 60 times around 4 fingers. Tie tightly in the middle and leave a long end for attaching to the ties. Cut loops at both ends and trim to create a round shape. Sew securely to each end of the ties.
